How do I apply to Maple Leaf International School?
To apply, visit our campus for a tour, complete the online application form on our website, and submit required documents including previous academic records, immunization records, and identification. Our admissions team will guide you through each step and answer any questions you may have.
What are the admission requirements?
Requirements include completed application form, previous school transcripts, teacher recommendations, student assessment, parent/student interview, and proof of residence. International students may need additional documentation including visa information and English proficiency test results.
Do you accept international students?
Yes! We welcome international students and provide comprehensive support including ESL programs, cultural integration assistance, and guidance with visa processes. Our diverse student body represents over 30 countries, creating a rich multicultural learning environment.
When does the application process open?
Applications open in September for the following academic year. We accept rolling admissions throughout the year as space permits. Early application is recommended as spots fill quickly. Contact our admissions office for current availability.

What curriculum do you follow?
We follow the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum enhanced with international best practices. Our program includes Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high school students and emphasizes STEM education, languages, arts, and holistic development.
What is the student-to-teacher ratio?
We maintain an average student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1, ensuring personalized attention and support for each student. Some specialized classes have even smaller ratios to facilitate hands-on learning and individual guidance.
Do you offer ESL/ELL support?
Yes, we offer comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs with certified instructors. Students receive individualized support based on their proficiency level, helping them succeed academically while improving English skills.
How do you support students with learning differences?
Our learning support team works with students who have special educational needs, creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing accommodations. We offer resource room support, differentiated instruction, and assistive technology as needed.
Online Learning
Do you offer fully online programs?
Yes, we offer both hybrid and fully online programs through our digital learning platform. Online courses are taught by certified teachers and include live virtual classes, recorded lessons, and interactive assignments. Students earn full credit recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
What technology do students need for online learning?
Students need a computer or tablet with internet connection, webcam, and microphone. We provide access to necessary software and learning management systems. Technical support is available to help families with setup and troubleshooting.
Can students switch between online and in-person learning?
Our hybrid model offers flexibility, allowing students to combine in-person and online courses. Switching between formats is possible at semester breaks with advance notice and approval from academic advisors.
Student Life
What extracurricular activities are available?
We offer over 40 clubs and activities including sports teams (soccer, basketball, swimming), performing arts (theater, choir, orchestra), visual arts, robotics, coding, Model UN, debate team, and community service programs. New clubs are regularly created based on student interests.
What are school hours?
Regular school hours are 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Extended care is available from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM for families who need additional supervision. Extracurricular activities typically run until 5:00 PM.
Do you provide meals and snacks?
We have a cafeteria offering nutritious lunch options and snacks. Students can purchase meals or bring lunch from home. We accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Younger students have supervised lunch periods.
How do you ensure student safety?
Student safety is our top priority. We have secure campus access, supervised arrival and dismissal procedures, trained staff in first aid, emergency response protocols, anti-bullying programs, and mental health support. All staff undergo background checks and safety training.
